Sarah and Derek are the kind of people you meet once and feel like you've known forever. Derek's not afraid to say whatever he's thinking (which is almost always entertaining) and Sarah can't help but laugh. They compliment each other so beautifully and it's pretty darn obvious why the two of them have been together so long and why they're getting married.
Our initial shoot was cancelled due to some pretty horrid weather, but this only proved to be a blessing in disguise. Sarah and Derek's engagement shoot ended up falling on quite possibly the most perfect fall day. The weather was mild, the light was perfect and the sunset was one for the books. This shoot also turned out to be a bit of an adventure. One of those adventures that makes you feel like a little kid again. We roamed forests (Sarah, such a trooper in her 4 inch heals), trudged through a swampy, muddy field, encountered a rather large spider (but luckily no snakes) trespassed at a church (ssssh!) and ran through cornfields. We had so much fun and I can only imagine how much fun we're going to have on their actual wedding day.
This is most definitely one of my most favorite shoots yet. It's just so dreamy, soft, pretty and romantic and these two are absolutely stunning. I think it shows how much fun the two of them truly have together and just how in love they are with one another. Melts my heart and puts such a big smile on my face!
S & D, thanks for being so incredibly awesome and choosing me to capture your love story. I can't wait for your wedding day and can't even fathom how absolutely gorgeous it's going to be.
