I was extremely honoured and excited when Robbie and Melissa asked me to photograph their wedding earlier this year. Robbie and I have known each other since we were little ones and went to school together from kindergarten to grade 12. Growing up he was always a truly genuine and thoughtful guy and it's evident that over the years, nothing's changed. His parent's, who are quite possibly the world's most lovely people, certainly had it right with Robbie from the get-go.
And then there's Melissa- as beautiful on the inside as she is outside. And just like her new hubby- so genuine and thoughtful. It's no wonder these two fit together so perfectly. They adore, support and understand each other and it's so beautiful to witness.
It's a little strange looking through these pictures as I'm not so sure they truly showcase what Robbie and Melissa's wedding day was reaaally like. BUT, I think I know why. It was windy and it was chilly but you would almost never know. Between all the laughter, joy and excitement between friends and family, these photos just radiate love and warmth. I shot that day for a good 12 hours, so it was no surprise when a pleasant little error message popped up on my screen to tell me my blog had reached capacity. I didn't have it in me to minimize the number of photos I'd chosen, as this day was filled with so many special moments that I just couldn't resist sharing. So, Robbie and Melissa's wedding day is broken down into two separate posts, starting with "Part I"- all things pre-ceremony.
R&M, From the bottom of my heart, thanks for allowing me to capture one of the most important days of your life. I hope these photos allow you both to live it over and over again.
